  • Base: 316L stainless steel. Not brass, so there’s no copper to oxidise on your skin.
  • Gold colour: 18K gold plated with a PVD coating, applied in a vacuum. It’s not solid gold. It’s the colour of gold on a base that won’t wear out.
  • Nickel: low release, within the limits of the REACH regulation (Annex XVII, entry 27).
  • Water: showers, the sea, sweaty gym sessions: you can keep it on.

To make it last longer (honestly): take it off in the pool, chlorine is harsh on everything. Keep it away from bleach and solvents. Perfume and moisturiser first, jewellery last. Clean it with a soft cloth.

Before you buy

What you’re probably wondering.

Is it real gold?

No: it’s not solid gold (that starts at around $350). It’s 316L stainless steel with PVD plating in an 18K gold colour.

It’s the middle ground: the colour of gold every day, on a base that isn’t brass, so it won’t turn green.

Does it tarnish over time?

Costume jewellery tarnishes because there’s brass underneath, which means copper: sweat and water make it oxidise. Ours has a stainless steel base.

Can I shower in it? What about the sea?

Yes: showers, the sea, gym sweat.

An honest tip: take it off for the pool (chlorine is harsh on everything) and keep it away from bleach and solvents.

I’m allergic to nickel. Can I wear it?

316L steel releases little nickel, within the limits of the EU’s REACH regulation (Annex XVII, entry 27).

If you have a diagnosed allergy, check with your dermatologist first: no jewellery can promise zero reactions for everyone. Not sure? Get in touch.

How do I choose my size?

Our sizes are the inside circumference in mm: size 52 = UK/AU L½. With some thread and a ruler it takes 30 seconds: the guide is just below the sizes, on this page.

Between two sizes? Go for the bigger one. Try it on at home, just as you would in a shop: if it doesn’t fit, tell us within 30 days and send it back.

When will I get it?

Tracked delivery, by courier.

We send you the tracking code as soon as your parcel ships.

And if I don’t like it?

You have 30 days from delivery to tell us you want to return it. Refund to the same payment method.

All we ask, in plain words: try it on as you would in a shop (if it’s been worn beyond that, we may deduct the loss in value) and, if you can, send it back in its box.
